Dhidhdhoo is the capital of Haa Alifu, the northernmost atoll, and it is three hundred kilometres from Velana. Almost nobody on a first trip to the Maldives comes this far.
The designated beach is small and nothing is mapped at it — no toilets, no showers, no food. That is the honest picture of an administrative island in the far north rather than a tourism island.
What is up here is Bilehdhoo Thila, which the Ministry of Environment calls an aquarium and one of the most popular thilas in the northern Maldives, with a manta cleaning station on it.
