Eedhigamoolu is on Hulhumeedhoo, at the eastern end of Addu, and it is the southernmost beach in this directory — five hundred and thirty kilometres from Velana, and south of the equator.
Addu does not behave like the rest of the Maldives. Nearly twenty thousand people live here, UNESCO made the atoll a Biosphere Reserve in 2020, and the inhabited islands on the western side are joined by a sixteen-kilometre causeway you can drive along.
Hulhumeedhoo is not on that causeway. It sits across the lagoon from Gan and the airport, which is why this end of Addu stays quiet.
