Guraidhoo Bikini Beach

Guraidhoo is Maafushi's quieter neighbour, five kilometres further south in the same atoll and with a fraction of the traffic. The same arrangement applies — a designated beach with facilities, and local dress standards on the rest of the island.

What it has that Maafushi does not is the channel. Guraidhoo Kandu is a protected area declared in 1995, and the register describes it as multiple dive sites across two channels, good for sharks, eagle rays and napoleon wrasse when the current runs inward.

OpenStreetMap maps nine separate beach polygons on this island, more than any other in the directory — which is a fair indication of how much of its shoreline is sand.
